Sam Harrison is an independent, local artist, living and working in Ulverston. Ulverston is a beautiful festival town in the north west of the UK sitting at the gateway to the English Lake District and the start of the Cumbria Way. Sam says she is able to find inspiration for her paintings everyday in the amazing colours and wonderful scenery right on her doorstep.

Sam’s passion is creating interesting and unique contemporary paintings using acrylics and mixed media. She loves to add many layers using a bold, but harmonised colour palette, providing further depth and interest through use of texture and values.

Growing up in the Lake District, Sam loved art and being creative from a very early age, winning a local art competition at senior school. Despite that early success she chose to follow a more traditional career path of creating through Engineering and Project Management until recent events in her life made me re-evaluate what is important, giving her the courage to pick up her paintbrushes once more and give full freedom to the artist inside herself.
